The terms for using RoutineNest
Last updated 7 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us about using RoutineNest. We have kept the language plain. By downloading or using the app, or using this website, you agree to them.
- RoutineNest is for parents and guardians, aged 18 or over, to set up a routine for their family.
- It is a scheduling tool. It is not medical, therapy or financial advice, and it should not be relied on for anything safety-critical.
- Premium is an optional subscription, billed and managed by Apple or Google.
- Your family's information stays yours. We do not sell it.
- Your rights under Australian consumer law are never taken away by these terms.
This summary is a convenience. The full terms below are what apply.
1. About these terms
RoutineNest is operated by Simon Reiter, an individual in Australia ("we", "us", "our"). "You" means the adult who downloads or uses RoutineNest, or who holds an account. These terms include our Privacy Policy. If you use the iPhone app, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (the "Apple EULA") also applies. If the Apple EULA and these terms disagree about your licence to use the app, the Apple EULA prevails. On every other point these terms apply.
2. Who can use RoutineNest
- You must be 18 or over to install and set up the app, create an account or buy a subscription.
- RoutineNest is a family organisation tool for parents and guardians. It is not a children's app.
- A child may look at their routine on a device a parent or guardian controls. You are responsible for how your child uses it.
- The Parent Gate helps keep children out of settings and purchases. It is a convenience, not a security feature, and we cannot promise it will stop every child.
3. What RoutineNest is, and what it is not
- RoutineNest is a visual schedule, chore tracker and family calendar. It is a tool for organising your family's day.
- It is not medical, therapeutic, educational, financial or legal advice, and it does not diagnose or treat anything. It does not replace the guidance of your child's health, education or therapy professionals.
- The pocket-money feature is a record-keeping tool only. RoutineNest does not hold, send or receive money, and it is not a payment or financial service.
- Please do not rely on RoutineNest for anything safety-critical, such as medication, medical appointments or supervision. Use the reminders and safeguards you would use anyway.
- In an emergency, contact your doctor or local emergency services.
4. Your information and its accuracy
- Your family's routines, chores, events and other content remain yours. You give us permission to store and process them so the app and, on Premium, cloud sync can work for you. We do not sell your information. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
- You are responsible for what you enter. Please enter only what the app asks for, such as a child's first name, and do not enter information you have no right to share.
- School calendar import reads a PDF automatically, and it can misread or miss events. Always check the events on the review screen against the original document before you save them.
- If you share an exported routine with a therapist, school or carer, you decide who receives it. We are not responsible for what they do with it.
5. Free plan, Premium and billing
- The free plan works on your own device without an account.
- Premium is an optional paid subscription. The price and billing period are shown in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (and Google Play, once available), not by us. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings (or Google Play, on Android). Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, because they take the payment. Nothing here limits your rights under Australian consumer law.
- We may change our prices. A change applies from your next renewal, with notice as required by Apple or Google, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
6. Your account and shared family login
- Premium uses one shared family login. Anyone who has it can see and change your family's information, so share it only with people you trust.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your login. If you think someone else has it, change it and tell us straight away.
- You can delete your account at any time. Deleting it removes your family's cloud data. Information stored only on a device stays there until you delete the app.
7. Backups, syncing and your device
- On the free plan, your information is stored only on your device. If you delete the app, lose the device or reset it, the information is gone. Premium cloud sync keeps a copy in the cloud.
- When the same item is edited on two devices, the most recent change is kept and the earlier one is replaced.
- Please keep your device and the app up to date.
8. Beta versions and feedback
- Beta versions, including those sent through Apple's TestFlight, are early. They may have bugs, change, stop working or be withdrawn, and we may reset test data. Apple's TestFlight terms also apply.
- Please do not rely on a beta version as the only record of anything important.
- If you send us feedback, you allow us to use it to improve RoutineNest without payment or obligation. We will not publish it with your name unless you agree.
9. Using RoutineNest properly
Please do not:
- break, overload or interfere with the app or its servers;
- try to get into another family's information or accounts;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the app, except as the law allows;
- use the app unlawfully, or to harm, harass or deceive anyone.
10. Third parties and links
RoutineNest relies on services run by others, including Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat and Cloudflare, and we are not responsible for outages or changes in those services. Our References page links to independent organisations. We do not run them, we do not control what they publish, and a link is not an endorsement or a guarantee of their advice.
11. Ownership
The app, its design, the RoutineNest name and everything we publish belong to Simon Reiter or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own family under these terms and the Apple EULA. You get no other rights in it.
12. Availability and changes to the app
We aim to keep RoutineNest reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may update, change or retire features, and we may stop offering RoutineNest. If we ever do, we will give reasonable notice where we can, and you can ask us for help getting your information out.
13. Suspension and ending
- You can stop using RoutineNest at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if we are required to by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first.
- If we end your Premium access for any reason other than your breach, we will support a request to Apple or Google for a refund of the unused period.
14. Your legal rights, and our responsibility
- Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that services are provided with due care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits those guarantees or any other right you cannot lawfully give up.
- Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we do not give other warranties about the app, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by something outside our reasonable control.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. For a material change we will give you at least 14 days' notice in the app or by email before it applies, and you can stop using the app and delete your account before then, without penalty. The date at the top shows the latest version.
16. Disputes and governing law
If something goes wrong, please email us first at [email protected] and we will try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
17. General
- If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Apple EULA are the whole agreement between you and us about RoutineNest.
- We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms to a successor to RoutineNest, and will tell you if we do. You may not transfer yours.
- We will send notices to the email address on your account, or show them in the app.
